Required jobs in EGEC Qatar company and their details:
1. HSE Engineer
H&S Engineer prepares and ensures effective implementation with respect to adherence, safety policy and procedural requirements. Ensures project designs on inherent technical safety criteria, and H&S principles and are aligned with approved corporate codes of practice and company technical safety engineering standards.
Duties & Responsibilities, (include but not limited to):
- Work with the engineering teams under the direction of lead engineers preparing and producing HSE engineering deliverables for projects. Will be expected to assume lead engineer in the absence of lead engineer.
- Ensure compliance by all parties with Project’s HSE requirements and regulations and all relevant legislation and statutory requirements. Contribute to the design of engineering solutions and produce detailed designs and specification then prepare deliverables to meet specific project requirement.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards, local regulations, and project-specific safety plans.
- Monitor the construction activities and make sure that these are executed as per the HSE plan and procedures.
- Review, comment and approve of the project HSE deliverables such as, mobilization plan, Risk assessment and method statement, HSE plan, Traffic Management Plan, Project implementation plan, welfare adherence plan, project logistics Plan, Heat stress plan, site security plan, emergency response plan, lifting plan etc.
- Reviews Method Statement and Risk Assessments to provide technical assistance to the safety planning process.
- Report safety performance metrics to the project management team and recommend improvements
- Ensure that all construction activities comply with local safety regulations, building codes, and environmental laws.
- Represent QHSE Department in the establishment, management of the safety program and in the identification and mitigation of hazards to persons and property.
- Promote the activities that support visible H&S leadership such as safety inspection tours for all areas, identifying potential hazards & recommended solutions, audits, personal interaction and participation in daily toolbox meetings.
- Review and approve the HSE deliverables of the project.
- Develop and execute a personal HSE intervention plan and review the PMT HSE intervention plans. Personal plan to include the activities that support visible HSE leadership such as, safety inspection tours for all areas, identifies potential hazards & recommended solutions, audits, personal interaction and participation in daily toolbox meetings.
- Check the technical completeness and correctness of work done by other engineers.
- Maintain contact with concerned groups for Emergency Preparedness Plans.
- Ensure an HSE Audit process and plan is developed and implemented
- Provide the support and cooperation in regards to the Quality department requirements and Audits.
- Provide the support and cooperation in regards to the Business development & tenders management activities
2. Material Engineer
Materials Engineer will develop,process,combine and test materials to be used in production.; based on data gathered and expertise. Materials Engineer will also identify and recommend the most appropriate materials for specific applications.
Duties & Responsibilities, (include but not limited to):
- Collaborate with appropriate production and process staff to understand the material specifications sought for a particular application or product.
- Identify, select and recommend material based on weight, strength, heat and cold tolerance, cost and durability.
- Measure performance of various materials in accordance with specifications.
- Observe or participate in product testing process as appropriate.
- Gather data and identify the reasons when a material fails or does not meet specifications.
- Report testing results to material producer
- collaborate with process engineers as part of a development and fabrication team to create new material when none of the suggested materials meet the specifications.
- Perform other duties as assigned
3. Mechanical Engineer
Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for undertaking reviews and approval of mechanical engineering design packages including drawings, specifications and other form of documentation prior to submission.
Duties & Responsibilities, (include but not limited to):
- Manages directly and provide engineering and technical supports to all the Mechanical work groups at site.
- Plans the execution of all Mechanical related works and coordinates the works to Electrical and civil groups.
- Interprets construction drawings and studies the contract documents and applicable standards or specifications prior to execution of any jobs.
- Coordinates with Client / Contractors representatives for any site instructions and inspection of works.
- Site quality control & work inspections acceptance for various Mechanical works including testing & commissioning.

- Review site daily reports, inspection requests, estimates and all applicable monitoring reports on regular basis or as required.
- Generally responsible for management, implementations and monitoring of all Mechanical related works at site to provide safe & acceptable works.
- Review contracts, schedule for completion & correction prior to implementation at the site.
- Supports the Project Manager in accomplishing all the goals and targets for the Mechanical groups at site.
- Ensures that all the works done are in accordance with the approved construction drawings, contract documents, project specifications, and all applicable standards whether local, national or international standards.
- Ensures that all site works are done according to all applicable quality standards.
- Directly responsible for the safety of all Mechanical groups’ personnel of the project by ensuring that the project execution will be done according to all applicable health, safety, sanitary and environmental standards.
- Performs other related duties as may be required by the Project Manager
- Develop detailed mechanical designs using CAD software, considering factors such as functionality, performance, and cost.
- Conduct engineering analyses to evaluate the performance and reliability of mechanical systems.
- Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and calculations.
- Present design concepts and technical reports to clients.
- Ensure that mechanical designs comply with relevant engineering codes, standards, and regulations.
4. Site Architect
The Site Architect will oversee the design and implementation of architectural elements at construction sites, ensuring that all work complies with architectural plans, design standards, and client specifications. The Site Architect acts as a liaison between the design office, construction teams, and clients, ensuring that architectural concepts are accurately realized in the field. The ideal candidate should have strong technical skills, a keen eye for detail, and experience in managing site-based architectural projects.
Duties & Responsibilities, (include but not limited to):
- Oversee and manage all on-site architectural activities to ensure compliance with the approved designs, specifications, and project timelines.
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and other consultants to ensure design intent is maintained during construction.
- Provide daily updates and progress reports to the Project Manager, identifying potential delays or issues.
- Ensure that construction works align with architectural drawings, quality standards, and local regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality of work, addressing any deviations from design plans or specifications.
- Review and approve material samples, mock-ups, and shop drawings.
- Identify potential design or site-related issues early and collaborate with the project team to resolve them efficiently.
- Address technical or design queries raised by contractors, ensuring solutions are in line with the overall design objectives.
- Act as the on-site point of contact for the client, ensuring that their requirements and design preferences are met.
- Maintain ongoing communication with stakeholders to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of site activities, including drawings, daily reports, correspondence, and approvals.
- Assist in the preparation of project documentation such as reports, submittals, and progress assessments.
- Ensure that all architectural works on-site comply with health and safety regulations.
- Promote a safe working environment by ensuring safety protocols are followed on-site by all parties involved
- Supervise contractors and sub-contractors, ensuring that they follow design specifications and meet project deadlines.
- Provide technical guidance and support to construction teams regarding architectural aspects of the project.
5. Supervision - Sr. Architect
Senior Architect is to be sure that the project design is well implemented on site and to enhance the contractor ability to reach the project targets and goals.
Duties & Responsibilities, (include but not limited to):
- Analyze building drawings to ensure they are accurate and feasible
- Review/study other project documents (contract, specifications, BOQ …etc.)
- Collaborate with all parties to design and implement an efficient system of operation
- Attend progress meetings for the project (weekly, monthly).
- Attend technical meetings and workshops.
- Adjust a building plan to contain additional components/sections as may be required by clients
- Coordinate the work with other disciplines and to be sure that all work executed at site is well coordinated.
- Direct and supervise building contractors to ensure compliance with set standards and specifications
- Follow up the work progress at site against the project time schedule.
- Perform materials testing to verify the quality of procured materials or components
- Oversee the select materials and component for a construction project
- Ensure building operations are in compliance with government laws and building codes
- Attend workshops, seminars and conferences to update job knowledge and expand personal network.
- Responsible for the quality of work of the architectural items.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety rules and regulations during work operations.
- Review / study the Engineering works
- Provide the support and cooperation in regards to the Quality department requirements and Audits.
- Provide the support and cooperation in regards to the Business development & tenders management activities when requested.
