Etqan Global Academy is recruiting a Support Specialist Teacher in Doha, Qatar. Provide targeted learning interventions and English-language support at Etqan Global Academy for students who require additional academic assistance.
Job Description
The specialist works with school support teams and classroom teachers to organise, deliver and evaluate differentiated support.
The specialist organises targeted literacy and mathematics interventions, including small-group support and English-language provision for multilingual learners. Progress monitoring, student support plans and close coordination with teachers and families form the operational core of the role.
The academy offers the PYP and MYP and supports differentiated learning through a multi-tiered student support model.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored academic intervention using the school multi-tiered support framework
- Deliver Tier 2 and Tier 3 literacy and numeracy help to individuals and small groups
- Teach English as an additional language to multilingual learners
- Agree differentiated strategies with classroom teachers
- Track outcomes through MAP Growth information and classroom assessments
- Develop, review and update student support plans with families and teachers
- Attend intervention-team reviews and planning sessions
- Keep parents, teachers and leaders informed about progress
Requirements & Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in education or a related discipline
- A teaching qualification or licence accepted by the school
- Practical experience helping children with varying learning needs
- Ability to deliver reading or numeracy interventions
- Familiarity with MTSS, response to intervention, UDL and differentiated pedagogy
- Assessment-data literacy and collaborative communication
