Job Description for "Reservation Agent"

Job Title: Reservation Agent
Location: Doha Urban Area
Job Type: Full-time, On-site
Level: Entry-level
Required Skills: Computer literacy, Oral Communication, and several additional skills

Job Responsibilities:

• Process all reservation requests, changes, and cancellations received by phone, fax, or mail.
• Identify guest reservation needs and determine the appropriate room type.
• Verify availability of room types and rates.
• Explain guarantee, special rate, and cancellation policies to callers.
• Accommodate and document special guest requests.
• Answer questions regarding hotel facilities/services and room accommodations.
• Use sales techniques to maximize revenue.
• Input and access data in the reservation system.
• Indicate special reservation types (e.g., complimentary rooms, employee discounts, travel agent inspection rates, and wholesale bookings) by entering the correct code and rate into the reservation system.
• Follow proper escalation procedures when addressing guest concerns.

Qualifications:

• Previous customer-related experience is an asset.
• Must possess excellent guest service skills and sophisticated verbal communication skills.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Windows applications is required.
• Previous Opera experience is an asset.
• High communication skills, both verbal and written.
