What You'll Be Doing
As a Senior Field Service Engineer at Smiths Detection, you will be providing technical leadership for large installations and projects. You will bring your strong electronic technical problem-solving skills and exceptional product knowledge to ensure the success of our installations. Your key responsibilities will include:
• Leading junior colleagues and overseeing technical installations, ensuring high-quality execution.
• Resolving technical issues and driving customer satisfaction by staying up-to-date on product details.
• Acting as a champion for specific products or product ranges, supporting technical excellence.
• Making technical contributions across the design, quality assurance, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of products such as Explosive Trace Detection, X-ray, CT, or AMD systems.
• Maximizing customer operational performance and providing technical assistance where required.
• Assessing product or equipment performance, recommending modifications or improvements.
• Working with third parties to resolve any technical issues that may arise.
• Documenting processes and creating troubleshooting aids for future reference.
• Communicating effectively with stakeholders about technical service issues.
