Become a Key Leader in Mental Health at Naufar
Job Purpose: The Consultant Psychiatry is a senior doctor responsible for leading a team of junior doctors, overseeing patient care, and contributing to Naufar's mission as an Academic Health System. You will take ultimate responsibility for patient care, offering high-quality diagnostics, treatment, and patient management. As a Consultant, you will play a key role in teaching and research while actively contributing to the development of your specialty.
Key Accountabilities:
- Organize, monitor, and maintain clinical services to achieve the highest level of patient care.
- Assess patients’ needs and develop comprehensive management plans.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams to provide high standards of psychiatric care.
- Perform risk assessments and manage patient treatment and medication.
- Supervise staff and intervene in complex cases, particularly in substance use disorders.
- Contribute to research, education, and training initiatives, enhancing clinical practice.
- Participate in on-call duties and other clinical responsibilities as required.
Research, Education, and Development:
- Fulfill professional development requirements, attend seminars, and engage in research.
- Teach and guide multidisciplinary teams and staff to improve addiction and mental health care.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of departmental systems and practices.
- Participate in the planning and delivery of medical education and research.
Professional/Academic Qualifications:
- Essential qualifications from recognized bodies (e.g., Arab Board, ABMS, RCPS-C, etc.).
- Valid primary license and eligible for psychiatry license in Qatar.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year as a Consultant for western qualifications with a subspecialty fellowship.
- 2 years as an Associate Consultant for western qualifications without a subspecialty fellowship.
- 10 years of clinical experience for non-western qualifications with a fellowship.
Skills and Abilities:
- Expert knowledge in psychiatry and mental health, with experience in treating co-occurring disorders.
- Leadership and psychotherapeutic skills for delivering high-quality care.
- Knowledge of evidence-based treatments for substance use disorders and mental health conditions.

البحث والتعليم والتطوير:
- الوفاء بمتطلبات التطوير المهني المستمر، وحضور الندوات والمشاركة في الأبحاث.
- تدريب وإرشاد فرق متعددة التخصصات لتحسين الرعاية النفسية وعلاج الإدمان.
- المساهمة في تحسين الأنظمة والإجراءات داخل القسم.
- المشاركة في تخطيط وتنفيذ الأنشطة التعليمية والطبية والبحثية.
المؤهلات الأكاديمية والمهنية:
- المؤهلات الضرورية من الهيئات المعترف بها (مثل المجلس العربي للاختصاصات الصحية، ABMS، RCPS-C، وغيرها).
- ترخيص أولي ساري المفعول، ويجب أن يكون مؤهلاً للحصول على ترخيص الطب النفسي في قطر.
متطلبات الخبرة:
- سنة واحدة كاستشاري مع مؤهلات غربية وفترة تدريب فرعية.
- سنتان كاستشاري مساعد مع مؤهلات غربية دون فترة تدريب فرعية.
- 10 سنوات من الخبرة السريرية لمؤهلات غير غربية مع فترة تدريب فرعية.
المهارات والقدرات:
- معرفة متعمقة في الطب النفسي والصحة النفسية مع خبرة في علاج الاضطرابات المصاحبة.
- مهارات القيادة والعلاج النفسي لتقديم رعاية صحية عالية الجودة.
- معرفة بالأساليب العلاجية المبنية على الأدلة لعلاج اضطرابات تعاطي المواد.
