1- Specialist - Material Standards and Specifications
Job Description:
This technical role is a key part of the Water and Electricity Distribution Company, ensuring compliance with international standards, developing technical specifications, and adopting modern technologies for electricity and water distribution networks in Qatar. The applicant should have extensive experience in electrical equipment standards, substation design, and integrating smart technology to improve the efficiency and reliability of infrastructure.
Tasks and responsibilities:
Experience in standards and specifications:
- Possess in-depth knowledge of international standards, especially IEC and CIGRÉ , for the distribution of equipment such as:
- Medium and low voltage switchgear up to 52 kV .
- Oil and resin transformers .
- Cables up to 33 kV and medium voltage overhead lines 11 kV .
- Solar energy systems, smart meters, and communication systems.
- Develop and review KAHRAMAA equipment specifications according to network requirements.
Technical Inquiry Management:
- Handling technical inquiries related to KAHRAMAA specifications and ensuring compliance with international standards.
- Providing accurate and practical solutions to support operational processes efficiently.
Testing and Compliance:
- Possess in-depth knowledge of different types of tests such as Type Tests, Routine Tests, and Site Tests as per IEC standards .
- Review and analyze test reports to ensure compliance with KAHRAMAA specifications.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years experience in electricity or water distribution sector.
- Familiarity with KAHRAMAA requirements and ability to develop technical specifications.
