Ministry of Labor announces temporary work visa extension service in Qatar
The Ministry of Labor provides many digital services to companies and individuals to speed up procedures and services provided to citizens, residents and the private sector, as part of its comprehensive strategy for digital transformation and keeping pace with technological developments and innovations.
Among the services provided by the Ministry of Labor to companies is the service of extending temporary work visas through the Work Permits Department - Companies (electronic service), which is a service without fees.

The purpose of this procedure, according to the Ministry of Labor on its website, is to enable the employer to submit a request for approval to extend temporary work visas (multiple visits) before they expire, to be then studied by Ministry of Labor employees to ensure the facility's ability to extend the visa and make a decision to approve or reject, and then issue the extension to the Ministry of Interior.
The Ministry of Labor warns that the procedure is not to extend the visa, but rather to approve the visa period, as the employer is expected to review the Ministry of Interior to actually extend the visas after obtaining approval for the extension and completing this procedure.
Temporary Work Visa Extension Service Requirements:
- Smart card to verify the identity of the person authorized in the facility to use the service through the National Authentication System.
- There must be no suspension on the facility that prevents it from providing the service.
- The facility’s registration must be active when requesting the service.
Terms and Conditions:
- The establishment must be authorized to submit the application.
- The previous visa approvals must be about to expire.
- The establishment's registration must be active.
- There is no violation of the provisions of the Labor Law by the establishment submitting the application.
- There are no requests pending of the same type.
- The total approval period must not exceed 12 months.

وزارة العمل تعلن عن خدمة تمديد تأشيرة العمل المؤقتة في قطر
توفر وزارة العمل العديد من الخدمات الرقمية للشركات والأفراد لتسريع الإجراءات والخدمات المقدمة للمواطنين والمقيمين والقطاع الخاص، وذلك ضمن استراتيجيتها الشاملة للتحول الرقمي ومواكبة التطورات والابتكارات التقنية.
ومن بين الخدمات التي تقدمها وزارة العمل للشركات خدمة تمديد تأشيرات العمل المؤقتة عن طريق إدارة تصاريح العمل – الشركات (خدمة إلكترونية) وهي خدمة بدون رسوم.
ويهدف هذا الإجراء، بحسب ما ذكرته وزارة العمل على موقعها الإلكتروني، إلى تمكين صاحب العمل من تقديم طلب الموافقة على تمديد تأشيرات العمل المؤقتة (زيارات متعددة) قبل انتهاء صلاحيتها، ليتم بعد ذلك دراستها من قبل موظفي وزارة العمل للتأكد من قدرة المنشأة على تمديد التأشيرة واتخاذ القرار بالموافقة أو الرفض، ومن ثم إصدار التمديد لوزارة الداخلية.
وتحذر وزارة العمل من أن الإجراء ليس تمديد التأشيرة وإنما الموافقة على مدة التأشيرة، حيث يتوقع من صاحب العمل مراجعة وزارة الداخلية لتمديد التأشيرات فعلياً بعد الحصول على موافقة التمديد واستكمال هذا الإجراء.
متطلبات خدمة تمديد تأشيرة العمل المؤقتة:
- البطاقة الذكية للتحقق من هوية الشخص المصرح له في المنشأة باستخدام الخدمة من خلال نظام المصادقة الوطني.
- لا يجوز أن يكون هناك تعليق على المنشأة يمنعها من تقديم الخدمة.
- يجب أن يكون تسجيل المنشأة فعالا عند طلب الخدمة.
الشروط والأحكام:
- يجب أن تكون المنشأة مرخصة لتقديم الطلب.
- يجب أن تكون الموافقات السابقة على التأشيرة على وشك الانتهاء.
- يجب أن يكون تسجيل المنشأة فعالاً.
- - ألا يكون هناك أي مخالفة لأحكام قانون العمل من قبل المنشأة المتقدمة بالطلب.
- لا توجد طلبات معلقة من نفس النوع.
- لا يجوز أن تتجاوز مدة الموافقة الإجمالية 12 شهرًا.
