1. Student Advising Specialist (Qatarization)

Job Description:

  • Reporting to the Head, Academic Advising, the successful candidate will provide academic advising services (in collaboration with faculty advisors) in a developmental dual academic advising model based on a dynamic student/advisor relationship. In this role, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting student success by providing comprehensive academic advising services. You will build strong relationships with students, helping them navigate their academic journey, develop personalized learning plans, and achieve their full potential.
  • In collaboration with Academic Learning Services, develop and implement individualized student success plans, focusing on maximizing potential and supporting at-risk students. 
  • Regularly meet with advisees to track progress, address concerns, and revise plans as needed. 
  • Stay updated on UDST programs and policies, providing accurate information and guidance to students. 
  • Assist students with course selection, sequencing, and registration. 
  • Connect students with relevant campus resources for academic, personal, and social support. 
  • Assist with the facilitation of workshops and training for faculty academic advisors. 
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and departments to enhance student support services. 
  • Utilize EAB Navigate360 to maintain accurate records. 
  • Utilize EAB Navigate360 to maintain appointment availability and manage student advising appointments. 
  • Assist with organizing and running campus-wide academic advising events. 
  • Assist with the hiring and mentoring of peer academic advisors (PAAs). 
  • Ensure adherence to academic advising policies and procedures. 

2. Faculty in Chemistry

Job Description:

  •  Education 
  •  A Master’s / PhD in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry from a recognized institution is required. 
  •  Post-graduate certificate in education teaching methods, or equivalent, is desirable 
  •  Experience
  •  A minimum of three (3) years of full-time teaching experience in upper secondary, post-secondary, or higher education institutions is required 
  •  Previous teaching experience at the university level is preferred 
  •  A combination of recent, relevant academic and/or professional experience may be considered an asset 

3. Chemistry Lab Instructor

Job Description:

  •  Master’s Degree in Chemistry or applied chemistry from a recognized institution .
  •  A minimum of three (3) years of prior full-time teaching experience within higher education institutions in an English-speaking institution , with a focus on instructing chemistry Laboratory courses.
  • Strong knowledge of Chemistry principles and laboratory techniques.
  • Demonstrate reliability, responsibility, and flexibility in managing the teaching and learning environment. 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English; interpersonal skills that contribute to a healthy workplace environment.
  •  Collaborative and collegial spirit and a demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Enthusiasm for teaching and helping students learn.

4. Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (Maintenance Engineering-Associate Professor /Assistant Professor)

  • A minimum of five (5) years of academic experience after the PhD.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of industrial experience related to the field of study.
  • Competency in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Apply various teaching approaches in the classroom and for practice experiences, including the laboratory, simulation, and practicums.
  • Ability to use a variety of educational technology and platforms.
  • Demonstrate academic and information literacy skills.
