1. Pharmacy Technician

To dispense prescription and over the counter medication to customers or health professionals. They also assemble medicines for prescriptions and provide information about medications.

Job Responsibilities 1

  • Receive prescriptions and check their validity.
  • Process prescriptions electronically and ensure all information is complete and accurate.
  • Resolve issues when they arise (e.g., rejected insurance claims).
  • Select the appropriate medicine and measure dosages to fill prescriptions.
  • Sort, stock, label medication and monitor inventory.
  • Record medical histories while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with the standard regulations.

Job Responsibilities 2

  • Deliver quality customer service to patients, responding to inquiries, questions, or requests, and referring them to the pharmacist for medical information.
  • Count prescription medication, filling prescriptions, and typing and attaching medication labels.
  • Provide input into the development and implementation of the pharmacy department’s policies, systems, processes and procedures, identifying potential areas of improvement, to support an efficient and effective operation.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE&E and QM policies, procedures, and controls across the pharmacy department to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality service standards and a responsible environmental attitude.

2. Anesthesiology and Pain Management Specialist

Responsible for assessing patients' health and discuss which type of anaesthetic is suitable for them. To providing anaesthesia to patients for operations and procedures.

Job Responsibilities 1

  • Administer anesthetics and analgesics for pain management prior to, during, or after surgery.
  • Monitor patient before, during, and after anesthesia and counteract adverse reactions or complications.
  • Record type and amount of anesthesia and patient condition throughout procedure.
  • Provide and maintain life support and airway management and help prepare patients for emergency surgery.
  • Administer anesthetic or sedation during medical procedures, using local, intravenous, spinal, or caudal methods.
  • Examine patient, obtain medical history, and use diagnostic tests to determine risk during surgical, obstetrical, and other medical procedures.
  • Providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as coworkers, customers, or patients.
  • Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.

3. Laboratory Technologist I

To perform and provide analyses for low to high complex diagnostic testing in the relevant section.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Actively participates in the technical and analytical work of the section. 
  • Liaises with Supervisor on appropriateness of tests, results and additional testing as required. 
  • Monitors, records, and reports back results, participating in discussion to rectify areas of concern if necessary. 
  • Identifies problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either corrects the problem or notifies the supervisor. 
  • Collects laboratory specimens and performs assigned laboratory procedures and other tests as necessary and immediately reports abnormal findings to appropriate staff.  
  • Verifies all critical results and documents with accurate follow-up.  
  • Performs appropriate documentation of laboratory procedures to assure the accuracy of laboratory records. 
  • In liaison with the Supervisor, ensures adequate stocks of reagents and consumables are available for the efficient running of the service. 
  • Orders laboratory supplies, rotates stock and monitors expiration dates.  
  • Operates complex automated laboratory equipment, electronic equipment, computer software, and precision instruments. 
  • In liaison with the Supervisor, provides technical advice on, and assists in the selection / validation of new equipment. 

4. Radiography Technologist I

To operate radiology equipment including but not limited to Xray, CT, Dexa, Mammogram, Fluoroscopy, MRI, interventional as applicable equipment including CT for diagnostic purposes. To prepare and assist patients during radiological exams and testing. To prepare and maintain radiographic records. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collects key information from the patient, family, provider, and nurses that are specific to the exam being performed to assist the provider in the proper diagnosis. 
  • Educates patient, family, or provider as to the extent and detail of each procedure, may including informed consent as well as pre- and- post- procedure instructions. 
  • Ensures the proper exam is being administered to the patient.  
  • Consults provider as needed. 
  • Maintains accurate inventory levels of all supplies as required. 
  • Performs daily equipment inspections. 
  • Participates in on-call rotation as needed. 
  • Practises guidelines specific to ALARA policy (As Low as Reasonably Achievable). 
  • Assists the daily patients in the general x-ray Services in liaison with the Technologist II and Supervisor to ensure that the department runs efficiently. 
  • Helps in implementing all policies and procedures relating specifically to general x-rays. 
  • Keeps up to date with general x-rays development. 
  • Performs high quality examinations as required by referring Physicians according to the departmental policies and procedures.  
  • Ensures that all patients being investigated receive a high standard of care.  
  • Trains and works in other areas of the department considered appropriate. 
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 
  • Accurate informs patients where and when their results will be available and who will give the results to them.  

5. Narcotics Pharmacist

The Narcotic Pharmacist – Inpatient will be responsible for procurement, storage, supplies and recording of controlled drugs and narcotics and other drugs with different degrees of potential for abuse or misuse, and to ensure compliance with the laws pertaining to the narcotics and controlled drugs in MoPH to ensure availability and prevent misuse of these drugs.
Provides proper performance of functions involved in the safe, efficient distribution of Narcotic and Psychotropic medications, in accordance with relevant laws, rules, regulations and standards of pharmaceutical care.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Procures, stores, supplies and records narcotics and controlled drugs according to the rules of State of Qatar MoPH.
  • Determines the annual requirements for Narcotics and Controlled drugs.
  • Establishes and maintains each nursing unit quota of narcotic and psychotropic drugs.
  • Supervises, performs, and maintains the routine pick-up and delivery of narcotic and psychotropic medications, both for direct dispensing to patients, nurses and stocking Omnicell Cabinets in patient care areas and Outpatient/Emergency room pharmacies.
  • Responsible for preparing the annual and other required supply/dispensing reports for the MoPH.  He/she will also report to the MoPH and to any other government institution for all issues related to Narcotics and Controlled Drugs use and documentation such as Annual Demand, Import License etc.
  • Complies with the standard laid down by the Joint Commission on accreditation and perform the duties necessary to support and achieve accreditation.
  • Responsible for monitoring related automated reports to ensure proper utilization of inventory, possible reallocations, compliance with regulations, and to discover and report any suspicious/possible drug diversion practices.  
  • Reports any occurrence not consistent with the operation of the hospital or standard of services for patients, employees or visitors and situations that put patients, staff, or visitors at risk for inventory or other harm.
