1. Technologist II - Special Hematology
The Technologist II – Special Hematology assists in the commissioning of the Immunology and Flow Cytometry sections within the Division of Hematopathology. The role involves the commissioning of equipment, IT systems, recruitment, on-boarding, and training of staff, preparing policies and procedures in accordance with CAP-ISO15189 and JCI. The Technologist II – Special Hematology is part of a team of Biomedical Scientists/ Technologists delivering high quality services in their specialty and has operational oversight of a team within the department. S/he provides professional support in the area of specialty to the Supervisor.
Key Role Accountabilities:
- Organizes, supervises, and participates in the work of the Immunology and Flow Cytometry sections.
- Operates and troubleshoots the immunology and flow cytometry analyzers e.g., Navios Flow Cytometer. BD Canto and Phadia 250 Platforms.
- Answers enquiries and communicate patient results to clinicians, surgeons, and nursing staff both internally and externally.
- Provides specialist technical advice on specimen handling to clinicians, surgeons, and nursing staff.
- Participates in the training (theoretical and practical) of technical staff in the section.
- Actively supervises other BMS/Technologists within their section to ensure an efficient throughput of work.
- Assists the Supervisor in the implementation of management decisions affecting the sections.
- Maintains co-operation between the sections and between disciplines by regular communication with other section leads and senior staff.
- Leads by good example in order to motivate staff to create high quality work, interest, and contribution.
- Actively participates in the technical work of the section.
- Maintains and demonstrates knowledge and experience in immunology testing and flow immunophenotyping, including but not limited to, antibody panel design, data analysis, and interpretation.
- Ensures familiarity with laboratory protocols, quality control measures, and regulatory compliance related to immunological assays and flow cytometry techniques.
- Analyses complex data sets and provide clear, concise reports that support clinical decision – making.
- Solves problems independently and works effectively as part of a team.
- In liaison with the Supervisor, ensures adequate stocks of reagents and consumables are available for the efficient running of the service.
- Uses LIS to generate workload statistics and run queries.
- In liaison with the Supervisor, provides technical advice on, and assists in the selection of, new equipment.
- Monitors and advises on the use of reagents and consumables in the section.
- Takes responsibility for the maintenance and safe use of equipment within the section.
- Helps to ensure the provision of a high quality, cost-effective service with the emphasis on quality assurance in all aspects of the section supervised by monitoring and audit of internal quality control.
- Participates in the external quality assurance schemes that the department subscribes to. Monitors, records and reports back results, participating in discussion to rectify areas of concern if necessary.
- Carries out corrective action when the quality control procedures fail.
- Assists in ensuring and maintaining CPA-ISO15189 standards in the section.
- Ensures policies and procedures for the sections are adhered to.

Qualifications, Experience And Skills
- Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Sciences/ Clinical Laboratories or other relevant program
- Experience:
- 5+ years Immunology and/or Flow Cytometry experience as a registered Technologist/Biomedical Scientist.
- Experience in LIS operations.
- Certification and Licensure:
- Meets the requirement for licensure by Qatar Supreme Council of Health which includes a prometric exam.
- Licensed and/or certified by an accredited licensure body in the home country.
- Professional Membership:
- Participation in Continual Professional Development/Education
2. Research Specialist I (Pluripotent Stem Cell)
The Research Specialist I performs routine and moderately complex scientific laboratory technical work, selecting and applying laboratory procedures and techniques to assignments with clear, specific objectives. Assignments may require investigation of a number of variables and complex features. He/she works with general supervision. The incumbent is required to exercise judgment in making technical decisions related to delegated tasks and escalating complex issues.
Key Role Accountabilities:
- Contributes to the delivery of departmental goals, through personal effort in own work area.
- Makes recommendations to the Investigator regarding improvements in methods and processes.

4. Institutional Review Board (IRB) Specialist
Further, this staff member helps to ensure uniformity of review and compliance with IRB standard operating procedures and applicable International regulations and Qatar Ministry of Public Health regulations. In addition, this candidate maintains up to date knowledge of regulations as well as policies, guidelines and ethical codes related to the protection of human subjects in research. This individual coordinates the implementation and management of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) related efforts; acts independently in carrying out tasks relevant to IRB compliance.
Key Role Accountabilities:
- Reviews and updates IRB Policies and Procedures, creates department standard operating procedures with the other department stakeholders (IRB Lead and HRPP Director)
- Reviews and processes IRB protocol applications submitted by other research staff, acts as a resource for any and all IRB related matters.
- Ensures accuracy of IRB applications.
- Responsible for the review of IRB submissions for completeness prior to agenda assignment.
- Generates and analyzes reports of the IRB database for quality assurance purposes and assists with protocol audits.

The Physician – Pediatric Body Imaging makes recommendations, orders appropriate therapeutics and diagnostics as per the patient’s diagnosed condition.
