Job Description
This curriculum leadership position guides MYP teaching, unit design, assessment consistency and eAssessment planning.
The MYP Coordinator brings consistency to unit planning, assessment criteria and preparation for external programme requirements. The position also supports teacher development and aligns subject teams with the academy’s approaches to curriculum improvement.
Etqan offers the PYP and MYP; the coordinator connects curriculum design, shared assessment standards and staff learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the implementation and development of the Middle Years Programme
- Guide subject teachers in inquiry unit design and MYP assessment
- Lead consistent marking and assessment moderation across departments
- Organise eAssessment preparation and external moderation tasks
- Support curriculum planning, collaboration and programme improvement
- Work with school leaders on quality of student learning
- Monitor the personal project and related programme requirements
Requirements & Qualifications
- An appropriate degree and recognised teaching qualification
- Significant first-hand experience with IB MYP instruction
- Expert understanding of MYP criteria, eAssessment and the personal project
- Curriculum leadership, staff coaching and excellent organisation
- Strong commitment to pupil wellbeing
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous IB coordination or curriculum-leadership role
- International-school experience, ideally in the Middle East
