Responsibilities
- Support appointment and designation of Aeromedical Examiners and Aeromedical Centres.
- Handle renewal of AME authorisations.
- Audit and inspect medical facilities and equipment of approved Aeromedical Centres.
- Conduct examination, inspection, and provide advice for approval of Aeromedical Centres and Aeromedical Examiners.
- Conduct routine and non-routine inspections and surveillance audits of AMCs.
- Coordinate medical review boards for borderline medical cases.
- Issue medical dispositions and medical certificates to applicants.
- Liaise with medical authorities of other ICAO Contracting States.
- Participate in incident and accident investigation as part of the Human Factors group.
- Participate in National Aviation Emergency Preparedness planning and implementation.
- Resolve medical certification appeals and medical safety issues.
- Review and assess medical examination forms and reports for medical certificate issuance.
- Review medical conclusions of medical certificate holders.
- Review medical regulations and procedures.
- Supervise and train other aeromedical staff.
Requirements and Skills
- Conversant with aviation terminology.
- Preferably conversant with ICAO Annex 1, EASA/JAA, and FAA medical regulations.
- Experience making final decisions concerning medical conditions of applicants.
- Experience liaising with medical and aviation stakeholders is preferred.
- Strong regulatory, administrative, inspection, and medical certification skills.
Qualifications and Experience
