Role Overview

The Paint Technician prepares damaged vehicle surfaces, applies primer and paint to manufacturer standards and restores finish quality through polishing and refinishing in a body-shop environment.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Prepare damaged vehicle surfaces with body filler, sanding and primer.
• Apply paint to vehicles and components according to manufacturer repair standards.
• Carry out rubbing, compounding and polishing to restore a high-quality finish.
• Ensure paint/refinishing work meets quality and workmanship requirements.
• Use spray guns, sanding tools, polishing machines and paint booths safely and correctly.
• Keep the work area clean and follow health, safety, environmental and PPE requirements.
• Participate in team meetings, safety training and technical assessments as required.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2–3 years of automotive paint-shop experience.
• High-school qualification; ITI or formal technical training in automobile engineering/body painting is advantageous.
• Hands-on knowledge of paint preparation, priming, painting, polishing and refinishing.
• Ability to work with modern paint-shop tools and equipment and follow safety procedures.
