Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the mechanical department in workshops and onboard ships, ensuring adherence to established procedures.
• Prepare annual departmental budgets for manpower, operational expenses (opex), and capital expenditures (capex).
• Oversee the management of raw materials, equipment logistics, and human resources to meet project demands efficiently.
• Review project scopes and set objectives, standards, and schedules to ensure timely project delivery.
• Coordinate with project managers, clients, and classification societies to address and resolve project-related issues.
• Supervise departmental manpower and equipment to ensure optimal use while maintaining cost control throughout the year.
• Develop systems and procedures to monitor and track productivity metrics.
• Lead and motivate teams, driving continuous improvement efforts and implementing change management successfully.
• Ensure all activities are documented for billing purposes and prepare detailed reports for management.
• Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and environmental policies to ensure employee safety and regulatory adherence.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Marine Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Certificate of Competency (Marine Engineer Officer) Class 3 to 1 (Motor ship) or equivalent.
• Project management qualification (preferred).

Experience

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in shipyards, including leading a production and operations (P&O) section.
• 3-4 years of managerial experience as a P&O department head.
• Proven 10 years of relevant experience in the marine industry, covering ship repair, new construction, offshore, and onshore projects.
• Extensive knowledge of ship engines and various types of machining tools.

المؤهلات والخبرة المطلوبة

المؤهلات

• شهادة في الهندسة البحرية أو الهندسة الميكانيكية.
• شهادة كفاءة (Marine Engineer Officer) من الدرجة الثالثة إلى الأولى أو ما يعادلها.
• مؤهل في إدارة المشاريع (يفضل).

الخبرة

• 10 سنوات من الخبرة في أحواض بناء السفن، بما في ذلك العمل كرئيس لقسم الإنتاج والعمليات (P&O).
