Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers with strong experience in the furniture and home appliances industry.
- Build and sustain long-term, value-driven relationships with vendors and manufacturers to ensure consistent product quality and timely delivery.
- Conduct comprehensive supplier assessments, focusing on cost, quality, delivery reliability, and ethical practices.
Procurement Leadership:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company objectives to maximize efficiency and cost savings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, sales, logistics) to ensure procurement supports organizational needs.
- Manage high-value contracts, ensuring compliance with legal, financial, and operational requirements.
Negotiation and Cost Optimization:
- Lead high-stakes negotiations with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, favorable terms, and long-term contracts.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and implement innovative solutions without compromising quality.
- Monitor market trends, currency fluctuations, and commodity pricing to make informed purchasing decisions.
Operational Excellence:
- Oversee the end-to-end procurement process, including purchase orders, shipment tracking, and supplier payments.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods, resolving delays or discrepancies efficiently.
- Optimize inventory management by forecasting demand and minimizing excess stock or shortages.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies, ethical standards, and legal regulations.
- Maintain meticulous records of procurement activities, contracts, and supplier communications.
Requirements
- Education:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Experience:
- At least 5-7 years of progressive experience in procurement, particularly in the furniture and home appliances industry.
- Proven track record of managing multi-million-dollar procurement portfolios.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in procurement systems and tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).
- Advanced knowledge of supply chain optimization and contract management.
- Core Competencies:
- Exceptional negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver in fast-paced environments.
- Language Skills:
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
