Manager, Procurement and Logistics

Location: Doha, Qatar
Job Description:
The position is responsible for managing the procurement and logistics process, including purchasing clearance, distribution, allocation, and delivery of internationally procured items, including mailroom management and maintaining supplier relationships. The manager will oversee all stages of contracts and purchase orders, ensuring timely and satisfactory delivery of requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end administration of contracts and purchase orders, ensuring timely and satisfactory delivery.
• Work with end users to prepare required specifications for items or equipment and facilitate relationships between end users and suppliers.
• Manage the bidding and sourcing process to ensure compliance with procurement policies, professional standards, and user requirements.
• Analyze product values based on research and market knowledge, and negotiate prices, contracts, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Manage logistics for the shipment and clearance of internationally procured items and track deliveries against targets and benchmarks.
• Oversee mailroom activities, including incoming and outgoing mail handling.
• Monitor inventory and reorder items, including office supplies and promotional products.
• Collaborate with related stakeholders to ensure procurement processes comply with Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar and Cornell University policies.
• Provide spend analytics reports and recommendations to assist in strategic procurement and vendor management.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management.
• Experience: 7-8 years of relevant experience, including 2 years in procuring general and research lab supplies.
• Professional qualifications: CPP and CISP certifications are preferred.
• Work Experience: Prior experience in a research, medical, or educational environment is desirable.
• Skills and Knowledge:
