Duties & Responsibilities
- The role and function of a Camp Boss includes the following duties and responsibilities:
- Performs maintenance and repairs on camp facilities including plumbing, painting, carpentry, cleaning, and electrical duties.
- Employs and supervises staff.
- Plans menus, prepares food supply orders, and stores food.
- Makes arrangements for disposal of garbage.
- Assumes responsibility for checking in and out camp grounds and non-camp groups and maintenance of records.
- Inspects all facilities and collects breakage fees.
- Supervises and orients camp counselors.
- Assumes responsibility for maintaining standard first aid supplies.
- Maintains required health records to ensure proper payment of accident claims resulting from camp participation.
- Maintains liaison with medical doctors in the area.
- Assumes responsibility for weekly camp attendance summary, program evaluation, counselor evaluation, and other required reports.
- Assumes responsibility for collecting camp fees, depositing money in the bank, and keeping accurate financial records.

4. AFCAP V: Contingent Large Area Maintenance Shelter Specialist
Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs inspection, installation, operation, maintenance, repairs, and disposal of LAMS/BEAR structures and related systems.
- Read, comprehend, plan, and execute instructions and procedures outlined in manufacturers’ operation and maintenance manuals.
- Leads and supervises other personnel as required. Schedules and coordinates equipment, materials, and personnel required for shelter work activities.
- Erect, maintain, and dismantle large area maintenance shelters ensuring they are operational and meet safety standards.
- Oversee the inventory, storage, and maintenance of tools and equipment used within the shelters.

Build sheds and other outbuildings. Conducts periodic inspections to determine maintenance work required. Maintains all tools, measuring instruments, and equipment necessary to perform work. Typically rquires working knowledge of job procedures and tools obtained through formal training or work experience. Works under moderate supervision in straightforward situations, assesses each using standard procedures and makes sound decisions. Work is typically of a routine nature, but may at times require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures. Communicates information that requires some explanation or interpretation.
