Required jobs in Baker Hughes company and their details:

1. Control Field Service Engineer

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide on-site technical direction on control systems installation, including loop checks, system tests during start-up, commissioning, troubleshooting and maintenance on customer owned sites in remote oilfield, power generation and industrial facilities (Power generation includes customer owned utilities, marine drives, petrochemical, paper, steel, automotive and transportation industries)
  • Supervise the positioning and wiring of control panels such as Unit Control Panel (UCP), auxiliary panels of any type, Direct Current Panel (DCP), battery charger and battery cells, Generator Control & Protection Panel (GCPP), Motor Control Center (MCC), etc., particularly electrical hook up, pneumatic hook up, primary hook up and field wiring done by client or sub-contractor
  • Check the functionality of the control sequencing for all auxiliary systems, relevant to the turbine and driven equipment such as lube oil system, hydraulic oil system, oil coolers, starting means (motor & torque converter/gas expander/hydraulic starter & pumps etc.), enclosure and building ventilation systems, Fire & Gas detection system, compressor seal oil system, compressor dry gas seal system, process gas coolers, fuel and process gas valves, anti-surge system, etc.
  • Leading Installation, Maintenance, Commissioning Site Activities with proper Customer/Company Schedule Targets Mindset following strictly Quality and HSE Rules
  • Establish through the immediate Report after the Daily HSE Toolbox Talking the critical activity tasks and remark any HSE aspect to be followed
  • Utilizing Problem Solving Skills, Engineering Instructions, Drawings, and Process Instructions during Turbomachinery’s Commissioning and Start-up Activities - Possessing the Technical Capability to troubleshoot and provide routine maintenance checkout for Gas Turbines Products
  • Preparation of job-planning documents based to Assignment’s Scope of Work (Installation, Upgrade, Outage)
  • Provide leadership and technical direction to skilled labor, performing work at customer sites, maintaining strong safety mindset to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within Baker Hughes and customer safety standards
  • Providing input for Daily Outage and Weekly Installation Reports
  • Communicate effectively with Service/Installation/Project Managers and Site Manager about job planning, job execution, job progression as well as personnel site arrivals and departures
  • Prepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and a reference for future field service interventions.
  • Actively participate to customer and/or contractor meeting.
  • Apply all Quality procedures and documentation applicable to specific activities, ensuring they are properly followed and updated
  • Ensure that Site Quality Check List/Job Cards/Field Procedure are applied, and relevant documentation is properly signed.
  • Ensure reports and drawings “marked-up” are completed.
  • Ensure all Non-Conformity (technical and materials) are properly addressed using Baker Hughes e-tools and follow up till resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with local/current legislation, requests & requirements present in the site Safety Manual

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have Engineering Degree with minimum 10 years of relevant field experience.
  • Have strong knowledge on rotating equipment installation/ commissioning /maintenance/ Troubleshooting; Hands on expertise on of HDGT (Frame 5/2, 6B, 7E & 9E) field Instrumentation, Control logic and their auxiliaries.
  • High expertise and Hands-On Knowledge of Mark Vie turbine control panels.
  • Knowledge of PLC control panels
  • Experience on DLN (Dry Low NOx) systems mapping.
  • Be able to speak fluent English language (Speaking and writing. Crucial for Report, Customer interaction and communication with ENG HQ technical alignment)
  • Have strong customer service-orientation, and the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work efficiently without direct supervision.
  • Proven analytical and quality improvement ability.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • This role requires extensive travel. Applicants must be willing and able to travel significantly (not less than 70%) without geographical restriction including offshore

2. Field Service Engineer - Mechanical Heavy-Duty Gas Turbine

As a Field Service Engineer - Mechanical Heavy Duty Gas Turbine, you will advise and counsel for pre-defined maintenance activities. To the extent specified during the performance of work, such service may also include testing, adjustment, programming and other similar services as agreed upon with the Headquarter Technical assistance team.

As a Field Service Engineer - Mechanical Heavy Duty Gas Turbine, you will be responsible for:

  • Handling mechanical Inspection including CI, HGPI and MI for Heavy-duty gas turbine and its auxiliaries.
  • Planning and preparing schedule with the customer for all planned maintenance activity. Has required technical expertise to perform troubleshooting and address technical queries on end users in collaboration with the technical support team.
  • Take lead in discussion with customer for plan and implementation of any mechanical-related NICs/TILs and have a close follow-up until completion.
  • Maintaining a documented history of all mechanical modifications for the Covered Units. Has required skills in preparing effective and quality Field Service reports.
  • Supporting end users operation & maintenance staff with diagnostics counselling and addressing maintenance /operational issues on Covered Units.
  • Performing geometric dimensional check of foundation, equipment and auxiliaries’ skids positioning, levelling (ensure levelness and elevations of sub-sole plates and perform contact checks between sub-sole plates and package supports) and alignment
  • Well versed in handling new unit Erection / Installation, Pre-commissioning and commissioning of gas turbines and auxiliaries including lube oil system, starting system, fuel gas system, Filter house, online / offline water wash ..etc
  • Advising on the interpretation of drawings for installation optimization

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
  • Have more than 7+ years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas/ Power/ Refinery/ Turbomachinery industries.
  • Be able to perform major Inspections and overhauling on HDGT – Fr 5/2, Fr6B, Fr 7E and/or Fr 9E.
  • Be able to perform Laser Alignments & Borescope inspection on all machines.
