1. Proposal Engineering Trainee (Great Opportunity for Fresh Graduates) - Doha, Qatar
The Proposal Engineering Trainee supports the Proposal / Tendering team in developing competitive technical and commercial proposals for projects and solutions. Under supervision, the trainee assists in engineering evaluations, cost estimation, documentation, and coordination with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and compliant submission of bids. This role is designed to build foundational skills in proposal engineering, project costing, and customer-focused solution development.
Your Responsibilities
- Technical & Engineering Support
- Assist in reviewing RFQs, RFPs, ITTs, and tender documents.
- Support basic engineering calculations, layouts, and technical solution development under guidance.
- Help prepare technical documentation including datasheets, compliance matrices, and method statements.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project teams to collect technical input.
- Proposal & Costing Support
- Assist in preparing cost estimates, BOQs, and price breakdowns.
- Support evaluation of vendor and subcontractor quotations.
- Maintain cost databases, standard templates, and proposal libraries.
- Help ensure proposals align with company standards and customer requirements.
- Documentation & Submission
- Support preparation of complete proposal packages (technical and commercial).
- Assist in document formatting, version control, and compliance checks.
- Ensure timely submission of proposals in coordination with the proposal lead.
- Learning & Development
- Learn proposal workflows, approval processes, and risk assessment methods.
- Understand contract terms, commercial conditions, and pricing strategies.

Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Industrial, or related field).
- Fresh graduate or 0–1 year experience (internship experience is an advantage).
- Basic understanding of engineering principles and project lifecycle.
- Familiarity with MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Exposure to AutoCAD, costing tools, or ERP systems is a plus.

You‘ll make a difference by
- Managing multiple MV System, MV Solution & PA SOL Projects within the time, budget and quality frame
- Handling preparation of OGT & NX-Tools+ and factory transfers
- Overall planning of the project including Project overview, Contract structure, Detailed planning of the work packages, Resource planning, Scheduling, Project documentation, Project organization and Interface management
- Setting up efficient workflows/ processes for project controlling and reporting, which permit at any time an up-to-date overview of the project status.
- Analyzing and monitoring continuously the plan fulfilment regarding technical and commercial.
- Identifying early deviations in project, identifying problems causes and sustainably managing these deviations.

Your success is grounded in
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering
- 5 – 7 years of project execution experience for MV System projects.
- Expert Knowledge of configuration of MV Switchgear in NXTOOLS and OGT is a pre-requisite.
- Managed diverse teams and has the ability to deal with different cultures at different demographic areas
- Completed PMP or certified PM with PM@Siemens is preferable
- Experience of project management with P&L responsibility within international projects.
- Experience in order execution of system projects with direct interface to the customer/ public authorities/ subcontractor and factories
- Experience in execution - construction/ commissioning, engineering (Planning, design of MV Equipments and Protection & Automation systems)

What are my responsibilities?
- Supervise and monitor the daily performance of Tram Drivers to ensure safe and punctual operations.
- Support tram operations (delays, service quality, disruptions) in coordination with the Operations & Maintenance Control Centre (OMCC).
- Conduct Tram Driver performance assessments using observation and competency management tools, providing feedback, coaching, and training where required.
- Carry out competence assessments in line with the Tram Driver Competency Management System.
- Conduct regular (weekly, monthly, quarterly) feedback sessions and complete annual performance appraisals for assigned drivers.
- Manage Tram Driver rosters and allocate spare drivers to cover operational gaps when needed.
- Perform the duty sign-on process, ensuring compliance with uniform standards, fitness for work, and Drugs & Alcohol requirements.
- Monitor the condition of station/stop equipment and facilities and report failures or issues to the OMCC Controller.
- Act as Incident Officer when requested, coordinating with emergency services, OMCC Controllers, and Senior Management until relieved.
- Review incident reports submitted by Tram Drivers for accuracy and completeness and support incident investigations.
- Propose operational improvements to enhance service performance and reliability.
- Support Testing & Commissioning (T&C) activities for new equipment or systems when required.
- Assist the Operations Controller and Operations Manager with documentation updates and operational process improvements.
- Temporarily cover Tram Driver duties when necessary to maintain service continuity.
What Do I Need to Qualify for This Job?
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering Field.
- At least 3 years of experience in tram, metro, or railway operations.
- Good understanding of rail public transport operations, rules, and procedures.
- Strong knowledge of safety, environmental, and quality standards in operational environments.
- Ability to analyse situations, make decisions, and respond in accordance with operational procedures.
- Good organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
- Strong people management and staff supervision skills.
- Good command of spoken and written English.
