Open Call for Artists: 2026 Olympic Heritage Residency
3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum is proud to open applications for the second edition of the Olympic Heritage | Artists in Residence program. In partnership with the Olympic Museum, this three-month residency in Doha or Lausanne offers creators a unique platform to transform sports history into cutting-edge digital art.
Selected artists will embark on a three-month residency in either Doha or Lausanne, gaining exclusive access to Olympic archives to develop boundary-pushing works at the intersection of sport and technology. This unique program provides a global platform for creative growth through professional mentorship and international exhibition opportunities.

What’s included?
- Residency with exclusive access to museum collections.
- Accomodation in Doha(Doha residency) or La Becque Artist Residence, La Tour-de-Peilz(Swiss residency).
- Round-trip flight tickets and expenses allowance to cover living expenses.
- Mentorship by the jury.
- QAR 30,000 or € 8,000 for the purchase of the resulting artwork for the museums’ permanent collections.
- Participation in an international exhibition as a part of the Cultural Olympiad, including but not limited to the Cultural Olympiad taking place in the context of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
Who can apply?
- Applications are invited from artists whose professional practice involves a significant element of digital art.
- You are encouraged to explore any form of new media, which may also be combined with other physical media.
- We invite digital artists worldwide who are aged at least 18 and under 35 on 31.12.2026.
- Entry to the competition is free of charge.
Application requirements
- Applications must be submitted in English in digital format on the form provided (APPLY NOW).
- The deadline for submissions is 30 April 2026 at 23:59 (GTM +1). Applications received after the deadline cannot be accepted.
- The Residency period is 1 September – 1 December 2026.
- Applicants must complete all required fields; incomplete entries will not be accepted.
- Applicants must follow the requirements on the form (APPLY NOW). Applications that do not meet these requirements cannot be accepted.
