1. Job Overview

Doha British School is recruiting a SENCo Lead for its Ain Khaled Campus. The full-time, fixed-term leadership role is responsible for strategic SEN development, day-to-day coordination of provision and professional guidance for staff, parents and external agencies.

2. Job Description

The SENCo Lead drives inclusive provision across the school, coordinates support for pupils with SEN or disabilities and strengthens teaching and learning through guidance, systems, target-setting and professional development.

3. Key Responsibilities

• Determine the strategic development of SEN policy and provision.
• Lead the day-to-day operation of SEN policy and coordinate provision for pupils with SEN or disabilities.
• Provide professional guidance to colleagues and work closely with staff, parents and external agencies.
• Set high expectations and challenging targets for staff and students.
• Ensure systems support effective and consistent student progression.
• Promote engaging teaching approaches and strengthen learning through professional development and practical support.

4. Requirements & Qualifications

• A recognised educational degree such as a Bachelor's in Education or equivalent.
• A certified teaching qualification such as PGCE or QTS with an Early Career Teaching Certificate.
• Exceptional subject knowledge and extensive National Curriculum of England experience.
• Experience teaching IGCSE, AS/A Level and International Baccalaureate (IB).
• Ability to lead SEN policy development, provision and professional guidance.

• A National Award for SEN Coordination or equivalent is preferred.
