1. Cost Analyst
The purpose of this role is to deliver Finance and Accounting processes for projects and activities undertaken in the Qatar Shell Development, Subsurface and Wells (DSW) department. The role is focussed on SAP workflows that are required to purchase goods and services, and provides a key accountability in cost control and our relationships with our external and internal suppliers and stakeholders. The role also performs budgeting and performance reporting.
What you’ll be doing
- Accountable for key elements of the Requisition to Payment (RtP) process for the DSW and related departments’ contracts and invoices, including QA/QC of preliminary and final invoices, and raising of Service Entries to the SAP system.
- Transacting of multiple invoices per month, including 3rd party services contracts, 3rd party materials invoices, and Shell internal costs for people and group expertise.
- Advising Contract Holders on process governance and invoice details to make initial and final approvals for accurate payments, in line with contract Agreements and the Qatar Shell RtP standard operating process.
- Analyse vendors spend profiles for assigned contracts on plan vs actual basis to explain vendor-level variances, gaps to Purchase Order value, gaps to Contract Value, and report on contract spend health and risk to Contract Holders and the leadership team.
- Prepare month-end accounting entries to reconcile project costs and produce standardised reports per active project. Consolidate hard copies into folders and arrange delivery to key stakeholders.
- Support two-yearly assurance audit focussed on spend compliance – preparation, field work and close-out.
- Liaise with the Supply Chain and Logistics teams to maintain valuation model of inventory of materials common stock across the projects, incorporating goods receipt, issue, restoration, and asset disposal activities, in line with Finance guidance on depreciation.
- Perform Value of Work Done (VOWD) and Latest Estimate (LE) / Estimate at Completion (EAC) calculations for active projects.
- Prepare Journal Vouchers (JV) for cross-department and cross-business cost reallocations.
- Support the Supply Chain team to implement new contracts or extensions based on analysis of historical spend.
- Finalise invoice payments in consultation with Shell’s internal centres of excellence for Accounts Payable, Shell Business Operations (SBO).
- Must be a SAP super-user and able to provide system expertise to support the management of all SAP-related processes for the DSW department.
- Must be knowledgeable in accountable principles and able to apply professional practices and sound financial judgement to maintain controls, minimize exposure, ensure cost allocation over a set of active projects, and to assure complete cost recovery from third parties.

- 7-10 years of experience in cost control in a project engineering capacity, or finance, with multiple vendors and a high volume of invoices.

2. Electrical Engineer
The Electrical Engineer will be part of the Electrical Engineering Team based in Ras Laffan, reporting to the Lead Electrical Engineer. The role is responsible for ensuring the safety, integrity, and reliability of the Pearl GTL electrical assets in Qatar. The Electrical Section is part of the Pearl GTL Asset organization reporting to the Engineering Manager.
This role requires close collaboration with Maintenance, Turnaround, and Operations teams, as well as other engineering disciplines. To work in an environment that is challenging and encourages efficient work processes, through ownership at all levels, technical competence, continuous improvement, multi-disciplinary team working with delegated leadership.
Main responsibilities:
- Able to work as Senior Electrical Authorised Person (SAEP), ensuring electrical safety across all activities at Pearl GTL. Responsibilities include conducting electrical safety audits, performing high-voltage (HV) switching operations, approving temporary electrical installations, verifying high-risk permits as the Electrical Subject Matter Expert (SME), and assessing and authorizing electrical personnel in compliance with Pearl Electrical Safety Rules.
- Provide technical support to the plant maintenance team in executing preventive and corrective maintenance (PM/CM) activities, troubleshooting electrical issues, and conducting root cause analysis of equipment failures to ensure reliability and operational continuity.
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies and Provide integrity assurance for high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) electrical systems—including power generators, transformers, switchgear (up to 132kV), protection relays, UPS, VSDS, process heaters, heat tracing systems and motors—through field regular inspection rounds, audits, and review of maintenance execution activities, ensuring equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Proactively identify reliability threats, develop effective solutions, and drive implementation to eliminate recurring issues (“bad actors”), resolve design deficiencies, and enhance overall asset performance.
- Develop and review electrical design documents and develop equipment specifications for plant modifications, system upgrades, and new project implementations.
- Apply advanced diagnostic tools, digital technologies, and predictive maintenance techniques to enhance asset reliability and optimize equipment performance.
- Manage Pearl GTL’s power generation and distribution systems—up to 132 kV—using Electrical Network Monitoring and Control System (ENMCS) such as ABB 800XA system, including load shedding operations to ensure stable and reliable power supply.
- Interpret and review electrical power system study reports, including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, transient stability, and protection coordination analyses, to ensure power system integrity.
- Provide technical assurance for the Pearl GTL asset management and Management of Change (MoC) processes to ensure compliance with engineering standards and operational integrity.
- Perform quality assurance for electrical installation activities related to obsolescence upgrades and brownfield modification projects and ensuring all electrical systems and equipment are installed in compliance with IEC standards.
- Understand and review equipment specifications, installation practices, and inspection requirements for Ex certified equipment in accordance with IEC standards, ensuring compliance with hazardous area classification drawings and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with vendors and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to obtain specialist technical support, ensuring timely resolution of complex issues

- Effectively manage, deliver, and sustain Pearl GTL’s ambitious electrical equipment availability targets by ensuring high standards of integrity, reliability, and performance across all electrical systems.

What you bring
