1. Health Safety and Environment Inspector

Mott MacDonald is seeking a HSE Inspector to join our team on a major pumping station project involving underground structures in Qatar. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex infrastructure projects and ensure the highest standards of health and safety are maintained across multiple work areas.

Key responsibilities, but not limited to:

  • Monitoring the safety performance of contractors on site.
  • Ensuring compliance with occupational health standards and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Participating in internal safety reviews and site inspections.
  • Assisting in incident investigations and reporting.
  • Checking adherence to permit-to-work systems.
  • Delivering or arranging specialist HSE training sessions.
  • Supporting the H&S Specialist in implementing health and safety standards on site.
  • Preparing detailed site safety reports for management review.

Candidate Specification :

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Health, or Environmental studies from a recognized institution approved by the Engineer.
  • Extensive relevant experience in the construction of deep underground reinforced concrete structures, preferably in large-diameter tunneling and drainage network projects.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with contractors and internal teams.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Site-based role with coverage across multiple work areas.

2. Commercial Manager

The Commercial / Contract Manager is responsible for managing all contractual and commercial aspects of projects, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, and supporting dispute resolution and claims management. This role requires strong expertise in PPP projects and a thorough understanding of contract administration.

Key responsibilities, but not limited to:

  • Liaise with internal departments (Legal, Contracts, EBD), engineers, contractors, and consultants.
  • Lead internal and external coordination related to claims and dispute resolution.
  • Review, comment, and recommend acceptance of contractor and consultant submissions.
  • Implement methods for dispute avoidance and resolution studies.
  • Perform duties related to claims, quantity surveying, and legal works as instructed by the Engineer.

Candidate Specification :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Law, Quantity Surveying, or Cost Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Extensive years of post-graduate experience, with at least 10 years as a Contract Manager or Commercial Specialist on PPP projects of similar nature and size.
  • Strong background in various Conditions of Contract and proven experience in contract administration and resolution for PPP projects.
  • Experience in the Gulf region preferred.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English with excellent technical and commercial communication skills.
  • Strong computer literacy.
  • Ability to manage complex contractual issues and implement dispute resolution strategies.

3. Senior Odour Engineer

We are hiring for one of the biggest WWTP projects in Doha, Qatar, and looking Senior Odour Specialist.

Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:

  • Must have experience in managing, reviewing and approving of design documents and drawings associated with odour control facilities, odour systems and other associated systems like extraction/renewal systems.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and experience of large-scale project delivery and design team management;
  • Design for odour control facilities and odour systems (carbon systems, biological systems, chemical systems, etc);
  • Design for air extraction/ventilation/renewal systems.
  • Peer review contract documents, calculations & reports related to odour control facilities and odour systems.
  • Detailed knowledge of specifications and datasheets related to odour control facilities and odour systems;
  • Detailed knowledge of odour facilities and odour systems operation and maintenance.
  • Detailed knowledge of testing and commissioning (FAT & SAT).
  • Must be able to prepare, review and comment on odour dispersion modelling.
  • Must be able to review, verify, comment, monitor and provide the No Objection recommendations for the Inspections, Pre-commissioning Plan, Commissioning Plan and Commercial Operation Testing Plans submitted by the Project Company.
  • Must have extensive experience in reviewing, verifying, commenting and monitoring all reviewable data related to Odour control system / Odour Emission / Limits set out

Candidate Specification :

  • Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent from an accredited University to the approval of the Engineer. A recognized Professional Engineering Registration would be a distinct advantage.
  • Demonstrable experience as a Manager/Technical lead in a design management capacity of similar works
