Lead Verification of Competence (VOC) Supervisor
A site-based leadership role coordinating, scheduling, governing and quality-assuring a Verification of Competence program for lifting personnel on a major Qatar energy project.
Responsibilities
- Lead project coordination, scheduling, governance and execution oversight for the lifting-personnel Verification of Competence program.
- Coordinate simulator scheduling and utilization and align scenarios with lifting risk and competency requirements.
- Integrate banksman and slinger assessment activities into the competence framework.
- Produce performance, competency and program reports and use data to identify gaps and improvement priorities.
- Promote a strong HSE culture and comply with permit-to-work, SIMOPS and site-safety requirements.
- Stop unsafe work when necessary and support incident investigation and prevention activities.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of lifting-operations experience in oil and gas, construction, LNG or offshore environments.
- At least five years in a supervisory or competency-management capacity.
- Experience managing competency programs and Verification of Competence schemes; major Middle East project experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of lifting supervision, lift planning, risk controls, load charts and relevant lifting standards.
- Relevant lifting qualification and recognized lifting-supervision certification.
- Valid HSE certification; IOSH or NEBOSH is preferred.
- Assessor qualification or equivalent and valid medical fitness.
- Strong leadership, communication, planning, reporting and coaching skills.
